About

Name: Kevin Hasley

Theme: Get Up, Get Out

Title: Senior Director of Products at RootMetrics in Bellevue Washington

Role: Gluing the pieces of the puzzle together to make it work

Passion for mobile: My passion for the mobile technology runs just about as deep as my passion for cycling. Just recently those two passions finally seamlessly intersected with the advancements on iPhone and Android devices. I can not only listen to my locally stored music, but stream any radio station across America while riding 100+ miles. While listening, I can now even track my every location so my wife never worries about me while I am out riding.

Current phone & carrier: iPhone 4S with AT&T and Motorola DROID Razr with Verizon

Previous phones: When at Texas Instruments, I was responsible for showcasing and benchmarking mobile phones that used TI OMAP processor as well as mobile phone that used the competition’s processor. That in total would nearly 500+ mobile phones that I was able to use, test and benchmark. Suffice it to say, I am really critical on the type of phone that I use in my daily life. It has to be simple and do what I ask it to do!

Previous mobile experience: 14 years in the mobile industry including 12 years with Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas then with BSquare in Seattle, Washington.

Other professional experience: At Bsquare, as product manager I was responsible for our Windows Compact Edition Board Support Package portfolio for the TI OMAP embedded processor as well as the Windows Mobile licensee support products. At Texas Instruments, was the senior technical marketing manager with the sole responsibility to showcase the OMAP product line to customers to win business. In this role, I had to know mobile phone inside and out as well as know how it interfaced to the network. This way, I was able to recommend changes in architecture to the hardware team based on software performance from an end user perspective.
